My Name Needs Changed
September 11th 2008 05:20
Alright, alright. It's been a while since I've posted anything. I'm not miserable anymore. Much. I just read a post at deeppencil.com and it involved how people view your first name. It got me thinking, although I've been thinking about this for years...
My name "Brittany" is so over-rated now-a-days. Half the time when I meet people they say "oh like Britney Spears" NO Not like Britney Spears. Like BritTANY. Ugh. And the other half are thinking it but don't say it. I can see their little smirk. Don't act like you can't hide it.
SO, I've been thinking of changing my name legally. I'm sick and tired of the name Brittany. It's everywhere. Everyone is named Brittany or Britney or Brittney or Brittiny or Britnay or Brit--- who cares. It's so done. It's been done since Britney Spears flashed her first puddy shot.
I've chosen the fine and beautiful name "Abigail" I will be able to stand being called that when I'm 80 years old, hard of hearing and wrinkly.
Abigail. Just saying it out loud puts me in a calmer mood. Nice.

Whenever I hear the name, I think of Abigail Breslin from the films 'Little Miss Sunshine' and 'Nim's Island'.
Brittany means 'from Britain'.
I think it's a nice name also.
If you're originally from Britain or have British bloodlines, then it could be why you were given the name. Or maybe your parents stopped at the letter B while they were looking for a name in the Baby Names book.
My name isn't so exciting either.
It's a plain and ordinary sounding name.
I'm just too much of a lazy daisy to have it changed.
Cheers!
