Moon-walker claims alien contact cover-up

In a Drudge Report article hosted on news.com.au a former astronaut claims to know for a fact that Extra Terrestrials exist.
Personally I have always believed that it would be nearly impossible for us here on Earth to be the only intelligent life forms in the entire universe. But then again, I'm just an average human, how much could I really know about the universe? Haha.
A NASA spokesman stated, "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe."
Just from that statement, I can see that they are not denying the existence of "UFO's" and also they do not state that alien life does or does not exist, giving way to the possibility that they do know of alien life but just doesn't bother with finding out more about them...
And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.
